Multifunctional acrylates are among the most important building blocks for ultraviolet (UV)-curable and thermosetting resin systems, where they provide rapid curing, high crosslink density, and excellent mechanical performance. As demand grows for materials with improved hardness, lower viscosity, enhanced hydrophilicity, greater purity, and better environmental sustainability, conventional manufacturing methods face limitations in achieving these properties simultaneously. To address these challenges, Toagosei developed a proprietary transesterification technology that enables the production of novel multifunctional acrylates with unique performance characteristics. This paper introduces three new products developed through this process: glycerol triacrylate (ARONIX M-930), ultra-high hydroxyl value pentaerythritol acrylate (ARONIX M-933), and high-purity dipentaerythritol hexaacrylate (ARONIX M-940). These materials demonstrate significant advancements in viscosity reduction, coating hardness, water compatibility, hydroxyl functionality, purity, long-term stability, and corrosion resistance, providing new opportunities for the design of advanced coatings, inks, adhesives, and other curable resin applications.
